FEELING FLUID

The feeling of freedom is fluid emotion
Alive like the wind on a dancing ocean
Never to stand as if made of steel
When your heart is longing to move and feel

Oceans are there for you to observe
But also to dive with a dolphin curve
Let yourself completely submerge
Follow the path of a frivolous urge

Who’s to say how one should spend
The days of life, so quick to end
Consider the infinite realms of choice
Then open your heart and hear its voice

And when it reveals your true desire
Don’t surround it with barbs and wire
Ask yourself why you do what you do
Are you really so stuck in your daily glue?

Remember the dreams you held as a child
Before you were told they were far too wild
Searching for treasure or following whales
Making up funny, impossible tales

Believe it or not there are people who do
All of these things and much more too
People who live outside the rules
Who couldn’t care less if they are called fools

So how can this be? Are they lucky or strange?
Or did they just choose to be different– and change!
Perhaps the trick that all of them know
Is how to start over, how to let go

To open their eyes one beautiful day
And say that’s it– I’m changing my way
Then off they wander to who knows where
Leaving only the question– who else will dare?
