OVER THE EDGE WITH YOU

Sometimes I wander off alone
To watch the sun rays pierce the forest
While you seek your reflection
In a crystal mountain pool

At sunset I return to find you
Waiting for me with open arms
You hold me tight and quietly ask
Why must I wander so far

How can I put it into words
That I’m never really without you
That somehow the wonders of nature
Always bring me closer to you

Deep in the forest I rediscover
The joy of exploring your mysteries
On the peaks of the highest mountains
I see our dreams unfold before us

When the eagles call me to join them
I soar on the wings of your spirit
Until the rich brown earth calls me back
To the sacred ground I share with you

These wanderings help me find the way
To clearly see into your eyes
Even beyond their physical beauty
To the miracle deep inside you

Now as you smile I see in those eyes
A magical pool of crystal water
Sensing me and inviting me in
For a cool, refreshing bath

When you touch my hand the water moves
Faster and faster till it flows in a river
That sweeps us away in each other’s arms
And washes us over the edge

Together we float in a slow motion tumble
Through a mist that shimmers like liquid jewels
Dancing suspended lighter than air
In the rainbow of our laughter
